Built on 20 Years of Institutional Rigour
Design Script BD was founded by Ar. Ahmed Shahriar Kabir after nearly two decades as the lead architect and Head of Asset Management at Grameenphone — Bangladesh's largest telecom company. During that time, he delivered projects ranging from 1,200 sqft regional offices to the 507,000 sqft national headquarters, managing budgets of up to 1,190 million BDT.
The firm was founded on a straightforward premise: the discipline, accountability, and design thinking applied to large institutional projects should be available to every client — including homeowners designing their first apartment. Design Script BD brings that same standard to every engagement, regardless of scale.
The practice is residential-first. We believe that homes are the most personal and consequential spaces we design. Every project begins with the people who will live in it.

Design Philosophy
Four Principles That Guide Every Project
These are not aspirational values. They are the standards we hold ourselves to on every project, regardless of budget or scale. If a decision does not serve at least one of these principles, we do not make it.

Function Before Aesthetics
A space that looks beautiful but works poorly has failed. We begin every design by understanding how the space will be used — by whom, when, and how — before a single visual decision is made. Aesthetics serve function. Never the reverse.

Material Honesty
We specify materials for how they perform in Bangladesh's climate, not how they photograph in a render. Every material selection must justify its cost, its durability, and its appropriateness for the space. We do not use materials decoratively when a structural or performative choice would serve better.

The Client as Author
Our role is to translate the client's vision into built reality — not to impose our own aesthetic. We listen extensively before we design. A home that does not reflect the people living in it has failed, regardless of how it photographs or what awards it wins.

Delivery as a Design Value
We believe that delivering a project on time and on budget is as much a part of the design as the floor plan. Two decades of managing large-scale construction projects means we understand contractor dynamics, supply chains, and the realities of building in Bangladesh — and we use that knowledge to protect our clients.
